How long can I stay outside the territory of Poland, if I have a permanent residence permit or a long-term resident’s EU residence permit?
Permanent residence permit and EU long-term resident permit are indefinite. However, they can be withdrawn for a number of reasons. One of these reasons may be leaving the territory of Poland or the EU.
The permanent residence permit is withdrawn if you leave the territory of Poland for more than 6 years.
The long-term resident’s EU residence permit is withdrawn if you leave the territory of Poland for more than 6 years or if you leave the territory of the EU for a consecutive period of 12 months (24 months, if you had a temporary residence permit in order to work in a profession requiring high qualifications or you are a family member of a foreigner who had such a permit).
