The Municipal Public Library in Wrocław expands its offer to foreigners. The “Good morning in Wroclaw” project has started
In Wrocław live over 120 presentatives of different nationalities. It is important to provide them with access to foreign language literature as well as materials for learning Polish.
As part of the “Good Morning in Wroclaw” project, informers / advertising materials for MWP in English, Ukrainian, Russian and Polish should be created containing a map with branches, information about collections and cultural offer. Integration meetings with Polish literature and culture are also planned, as well as multicultural workshops for primary school pupils and the creation of collections of books in Ukrainian.
At the beginning, the Municipal Library announced the collection of books in Ukrainian. Books for children, teenagers and adults can be brought to the following libraries:
- Lviv District Children’s Library (Львівській обласні бібліотеці для дітей) in Lviv
- Center for Ukrainian Culture and Development (CUKR) at ul. Ruskiej 46a / 201
- all branches of the Municipal Public Library in Wrocław
Do you know that…. The Municipal Public Library collects foreign language literature, including in English, German, French, as well as textbooks for learning Polish. It also conducts language conversations with native speakers (the “Language Cafe” program at the Mediateca), Polish language classes for foreigners (the “Wrocław on languages of the world” program), and also invites children to learn English at regular family meetings.
