Preparation classes for foreign children

Does your child come from another country and start learning at a school in Wroclaw? Are you worried that language will be a barrier for learning?

Enrol your child in the preparation class!

What is the preparation class?

Preparation class is for children who start classes in a Polish school. The offer is addressed to foreign-language children – including foreigners and children returning to Poland from emigration. In preparation class, children have a greater number of classes in Polish. They learn everyday communication, but also vocabulary and expressions needed to follow other school subjects, such as: mathematics, environment, history etc. Pupils get to know Polish culture, take part in thematic lessons and integration activities, get to know the city. At the same time, the child does not lose a year because it implements the core curriculum for its level.

Why is it worth enrolling your child in the preparation class?

Lack of knowledge of Polish language is an obstacle that makes it difficult for children to access knowledge, express themselves and communicate with peers. The child can then feel stress and frustration.  Preparatory classes are designed to prepare a child to function in a Polish-language school in a friendly atmosphere.

For whom did we create preparation classes?

For children and adolescents aged 6 to 19 who start school and do not speak Polish.

How long does it take to study in the preparation class?

From 4 weeks to 12 months.

Until when can you enrol your child in the preparation class?

Enrolment is possible during the whole year.

How much does it cost?

Learning in the preparation class is free of charge.

What will your child get in the preparation class?

  • Lessons take place in a friendly atmosphere.
  • Pupils have many hours of learning Polish as a foreign language and thematic classes.
  • Children learn the vocabulary needed to learn other school subjects.
  • Parents receive support, for example, consultations with teachers, training in the rules of education at a Polish school.
