Cooperation with non-governmental organizations
We have been supporting and cooperating with non-governmental organizations for years. One of the forms of cooperation are subsidy contests, under which associations and foundations may submit offers for the implementation of projects, including in the field of education and intercultural integration.
In 2018, a new Program for Intercultural Integration and Education was announced. It is addressed to non-governmental organizations and aims to raise the level of knowledge and shape openness and tolerance towards other nations and cultures among Wrocław residents.
In 2018, 7 non-governmental organizations received funding: Association of Ukrainians in Poland (Viva Ukraine Festival, Viva Polonia Lato), Association for Critical Education (School multicultural museums), Go’N’Act Foundation (Preschoolers get to know the world with their senses), Regional Center for Supporting Non-Governmental Initiatives ( Intercultural Ambassadors of Wroclaw), Dobre Kadry Foundation (Other does not mean inferior), Foundation for Sustainable Development (Everyone else – all equal), Ekocentrum Wrocław (educational classes), Ukraine Foundation (WelCOME to CUKR).
The program includes: educational workshops for children, youth, meetings in the framework of “Living library”, school programs of multicultural museums, educational and integration workshops, artistic festivals and integration activities, seminars and meetings, specialized training for various groups of recipients.
As part of cooperation with the Ukraine Foundation, a summer Polish language course for foreign students starting their first school year in Wrocław was also realized in August 2018 and implementation of the integration program “Ruska 46 A” was started.
